Curt has served as the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township since joining the organization and the Boys & Girls Club movement in July 2008, bringing with him a wide variety of non-profit experience. Curt is a graduate of Western Illinois University, where he obtained his B.A. in Business Communication (02’), and M.S. in Sport Management (05’). Curt is originally from Roscoe, Illinois and was a former Boys & Girls Clubs member of the Carlson Unit (BGC of Rockford), but now resides in Yorkville, Illinois with his family.
Under his leadership, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township have expanded services with the opening of two (2) new Unit locations in 2009 (Parkview Elementary School and Dundee Crown High School). In addition, Curt has increased local business & corporate partnership revenue by establishing annual pledge contracts, established Annual Campaign Giving for individuals, Board and employees, and has successfully recruited and developed the active BGCDT Board of Directors roster from 13 to 25 dedicated local business professionals and corporate leaders from across the greater Fox Valley region.
Curt is active within the local community, serving on the Board of Directors with the Dundee Township Rotary Club, Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area and as a United Way Ambassador as well.
“The most rewarding aspect of leading this Club is witnessing the direct impact, first-hand, that my work and the work of our staff and Board has on the youth that we serve. My focus is to continue to improve our Club and provide the most resources we can for our Club members, especially those that need us the most.”

Amalia has been involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township organization since 2004, working her way up the ranks from a part-time staff to a full-time Unit Director, and now serving as the Program Director overseeing all BGCDT programming.
Amalia serves as the organization’s bi-lingual liaison for the Hispanic community and is very active in the local community working with several of the Club’s business partners, as well as the Carpentersville AM Rotary Club.
As a proud parent to three children of her own, Amalia has a true passion for working with youth. “I am very proud of the work that our organization provides on a daily basis to the children and families in our community, it is a much needed service.” Amalia loves to spend her time away from work salsa dancing and frequenting Starbucks for her mochas!

Tim has been a part of this organization since 1999. Over the years he has had the pleasure of working along side many dedicated staff & volunteers. He has also seen thousands of kids come through the doors of different ages, ethnicities, economic backgrounds, and family settings. The snacks, transportation, homework help, sports, field trips, social interaction with their peers and adult role models are all things that we provide, but what matters most is at the end of their time with us, if that child is a better person than when they came in – then we have done our job… These are the things that keeps him motivated and coming back year after year!
Erika Boettger

Erika has worked with the club since Summer 2010. She started out as a part time staff and transitioned into the site director position at the Golfview location. Erika is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Elementary Education (08’), and National Louis with a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction-ESL (11’). She is a lifelong resident of the Carpentersville area and has strong ties to the community in which she is now serving.
Since working with the Boys & Girls club she has introduced a program that partners with the Dundee Township Public library. She has also added a field trip to the Carpentersville Fresh Market grocery store as part of the Healthy Habits program. As the year progresses she plans on increasing member participation in the wide array of programs that the Boys & Girls club has to offer. Erika has dedicated a lot of time and effort to build helpful relationships with children and parents. The club staff and volunteers work hard to make the club a positive place to be. The members have made a positive impact on Erika. She is encouraged by the club staff and members to continue on working towards making Boys & Girls Club a great place for kids!

Keith has enjoyed working with the Boys & Girls Club for 3 years. While Keith is at the club site he enjoys playing sports and interacting with the many club members. His favorite program to run is Smart Move’s because he likes watching the kids learn new things about themselves and engage with staff in a small group setting. The small group setting allows the members and staff to build positive relationships. Some of his best memories are when Boys & Girls Club alumni stop by the site to check out what is going on. He’s motivated to help members strive to get better at everything they do. When he see’s them smile he knows that hes done his job to make Boys & Girls a positive place to be.

Jennifer started working with Boys & Girls Club in August, 2009. She really loves working at our Parkview Site because it is a great school with an awesome staff and wonderful students. I attended Parkview as a child, and was a “full-time volunteer” there while my children attended. Over the years I have developed a great respect for the staff at Parkview and have been blessed with the opportunity to get to know several of the students and their families.
She remembers growing up, facing certain difficulties and obstacles and she remembers the people that made a difference in her life helping her to understand and cope, and teaching her how to make good decisions for her future. Working at Boys & Girls Club is so much more than a “job” for Jennifer. It’s an opportunity for her to share what she’s learned. It is her hope and prayer that she will make a difference in the lives of the children that she’s blessed to share time with.

Paul Knox Teen Center Site Director

Amanda has only been working for boys and girls club for a short time but has always loved working with teens. She has been actively working with teens through youth groups and other youth organizations such as young life and big brother big sister. She enjoys being active from playing a game of basketball to canoeing. She grew up in Tennessee so she loves to play in the snow. So every time it snows you will see her out there building a snowman throwing a snowball or even just making a snow angel. She says “Snow just brings out the kid in me, I cant get enough of it”. Her and her husband own over 100 Nintendo games. “We like to go back to the old school video games you just can’t replace Nintendo and Mario.” Although she likes the old school games she works hard to keep up with all the new games the teens bring in everyday.
The teen center is the perfect place for teens to escape, hang out with their friends, play games and laugh until their stomach hurts. We also offer teens some fundamental lessons on everything from drugs, friends, and even how to dress for a job interview. The teen club is completely optional so we work hard to make it a place that teens want to be. Amanda loves getting the chance to play a game of dodge ball or just sitting around and talking about homecoming or special events that are coming up in our teens life. We are the last step of boys and girls club before our kids are sent out into the world to make their own marks. Our only hope is that we have taken the time to listen to them, teach them and remind them that their never to old to play.
