SAGE Supports Back to School Supply Drive for BGCDT

 

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township kicked off a brand new school year on Tuesday, August 18th.  Nearly 1,000 Club members greeted our staff that first day with smiles, hope and anticipation for an exciting school year, however many of our Club members come to us armed with little supplies for the new school year, often missing the most basic of school supplies.

BGCDT Members Experience the Russell Wilson Passing Academy – NIU Campus

 

15 BGCDT Club members were able to participate in the recent Russell Wilson Passing Academy at NIU.  This one-day football camp featured hands-on instruction from Russell Wilson, the current Quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks.  Wilson is a back-to-back Super Bowl attendee and one of the rising stars in the NFL.  Our Club members were beyond excited about the chance to meet him at NIU.

20th Annual PK Memorial Golf Outing

 

The 20th Annual Grand Finale Paul Knox Memorial Golf Outing took place on Friday, June 26th, playing host to 15 (AM) morning foursomes and 27 (PM) afternoon foursomes!  The event featured a Helicopter Ball Drop just before dinner and on-course challenges included the Golf Ball Launcher, Longest Drive, Longest Putt and Hole-In-One Challenges.  Congratulations to Doug Foss on his Hole-In-One for a Kindle Fire!

2015 BGCDT Gatorade – Track & Field Day Event

 

The 3rd Annual BGCDT Gatorade – Track & Field Day event featured nearly 150 participants from our four (4) CUSD 300 Elementary School Club Units, including Golfview, Meadowdale, Parkview and Perry Elementary School.

Participants competed in numerous activities from the 100 meter dash to the long-jump.  All BGCDT participants received a “Champion” ribbon and each of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers across grades 1 – 4 received engraved medallions.

BGCDT Board & Staff attend 109th Annual BGCA National Conference

 

The 109th Annual BGCA National Conference, recently held in Chicago, played host to over 2,500 BGCA professionals and Board volunteers.  The Conference featured exciting keynote speakers, such as Jim Collins (“Good to Great”) and Rob Manfred (Major League Baseball Commissioner).  The Conference also was highlighted by the 25th Annual Alumni Hall of Fame that included celebrities, entertainers and athletes, including:  Andre Reed (NFL Hall of Fame), Trey Songz (Entertainer) and Vince McMahon (WWE Founder & CEO).
